Taking your own advice
February 28, 2008 at 5:04 pm | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | 3 CommentsTags: duck hunting, wing shooting
It’s funny how some things come about. I was doing some research a couple weeks ago about duck hunting, Feb 6th to be exact. I’ve always wanted to participate in a duck hunt. I’ve been deer hunting with my grandpa since I was old enough to take hunters ed, but we’ve never had the chance to go duck hunting. I frequently watch the outdoors channel on TV, and I can’t stop watching when the show is about duck hunting. That’s where I learned that duck hunting can also be referred to as wing-shooting. In the midst of my research I found some wonderful and interesting websites and blogs, that is sometimes where it gets confusing. There are so many websites to choose from that people often get confused and end up choosing one that is just convenient for them. Don’t make that mistake. Although it may be confusing and frustrating, trust me when I say that staying on course is in your best interest.
I ran across an interesting blog by blondblogger who was basically asking the same question that I was asking at the time. She needed hunting advice. She wasn’t sure which website to choose. So I read the article and commented back to her. If you click here you can read her article, and my response. As I explain in my comment, I have never had any personal experience with either of those companies but I’ve learned over time you can tell a lot by looking carefully at a website. A site that is well set up, and well maintained, usually means that the company takes pride in the service that they are offering their customers. If I was planning a trip to Argentina I would choose to go with the www.wwwingshooting.com website. It is important when planning a trip like this to take into account any other places that you might want to visit. For example: I have always found Argentina interesting and I would love to visit it, so I also have to take into account that I want to see Buenos Aires. I once read in an article that said Buenos Aires is one of the best cities to visit if you love to walk around aimlessly. The city was designed in a grid like pattern which makes it easy for any visitor to orientate themselves. I would also enjoy photographing the architecture in the city. Ever since I read that article it has been a place that I have dreamed of visiting. That is why I would set up my trip so that we could spend a few nights just enjoying the city, either before or after the wing shooting. That is why it’s important to keep other things in mind, had I not thought about it carefully I might have over looked Buenos Aires.
Here is a little tip for anyone who might be interested, my husband and I find that it is good to plan trips like this and to make plans for the future. It gives us something to look forward to, and a goal to work towards. We also find that it seems to make things easier for us and in saying that I will go ahead and explain what it is that I’m talking about. Getting out of bed in the morning, may not be easy for some people. I know that it was never easy for me and to tell you the truth I was quite the grumpy guss. But if you have a goal, or something to look forward to, you may find that it becomes easier to get out of bed in the morning and go to work. I know that it makes it easier for me. If I start feeling like I just don’t want to do it anymore, I take a moment to think about how fun the trip will be. That’s just our opinion though, I’m sure everyone has different opinions about this. Planning trips is important but it’s also important to actually go. If you keep making plans and never fulfill them you will find that it’s not at all helpful, because in the end you know that you won’t actually go. Having goals is important to us. Just remember to do a lot of research before planning a trip like the one I will be planning and the one that blongblogger will be planning for her husband. A trip like this is a big choice to make, and it will take time to save up the money and properly plan a trip like this. When I have a big choice like this to make, I always make a list of the reasons why I would choose a company to go through. The reasons that I have chosen to go with www.wwwingshooting.com are:
- It says on their website that they have almost 30 years of experience and I believe that experience is important on a trip like this.
- They have Dove and Pigeon hunting all year round.
- In the summer months you can also shoot ducks, geese, and perdiz.
- They make all the arrangements for your trip from beginning to end which is helpful to an inexperienced wing shooter like me.
- They will also assist you with your gear selection, which again is helpful to anyone who is inexperienced.
- They strive to provide the customer with the best experience possible at a very good price.
The reasons that I have chosen an Argentina hunt are:
- It provides a wide variety of climates
- It provides a variety of different terrain reaching from the Northeast jungles and marshes to the vineyards in the Northwest. The lakes, forests, plains, and mountains are equally as beautiful.
- It also provides a variety of other activities as well such as good shopping, fine dining, and nightlife for the adventurous.
- Because it is south of the equator the season are opposite from ours.
So if you are looking for a good duck hunting trip I would suggest that you visit www.wwingshooting.com. I think it would be the trip of a lifetime!!
Snowmobiling Trip in the Mountains

So, I forgot to write about how our weekend of snowmobiling went. We had a blast. I didn’t realize it was going to be that much fun. I know that might make me sound like a kid, but wow!! As I said in my other post, it was my first time riding a snow mobile and yes I almost wrecked. It was only once and it wouldn’t have been that bad. I was very proud of myself for avoiding the crash, I didn’t even tip it over. I didn’t get it stuck either, not even my husband can say that. He got stuck and I had to use my snowmobile to pull him out. Thankfully it came out easily. If we had not remembered to bring a tow strap with us we may have been in a little bit of trouble. One of our group would have had to go all the way back to the cabin to find something we could us to get it unstuck. But even watching him get stuck, and unstuck was fun. I told my husband that we would have to make it a yearly tradition, he agreed. I can’t wait to go again…
Love to Travel?? Go RVing!!

You know it’s funny, my husband and I are very much outdoor people but we get to do a lot of traveling right now. I supose it could be because we can always find so much interesting stuff to do right around our house, Glacier Park is nearly in our back yard. However, sometime here soon, we do plan on doing some more traveling. My sister in law is very lucky in my eyes. Her and her family thought about it for a while and decided they did want to travel, and after careful consideration on what type of travel would work best for them they decided to buy and RV. They have 3 boys and realized that driving in a car all day and staying in a hotel at night probably wouldn’t work very well. So they did some research and finally decided to go with Big Sky RV. They ended up buying a really, really nice RV and the next thing I knew they were gone. Off exploring the world. I told the boys before they left that they had better send me post cards, and they did. I got post cards from them while they were in Stowe VT, Kennebunkport ME, and Brockton MA. They got to visit so many wonderful places. The nice thing about the RV is that the family could spend quality time with each other without the hassles of trying to find a hotel, getting a room, unloading everything from the car, fighting over weather they were going to go swim in the pool or go to dinner, and at the end of the night being completley miserable from stress and exhaustion. My husband and I will be purchasing an RV soon. Even though we have no children, I firmly believe that it will just make the trip more enjoyable and less stressful. Traveling, is something that my husband and I are looking forward to doing again.

Do you remember being in school, feeling like you just couldn’t wait for the weekend to finally arive?? For the first time in a really long time i’m truly excited for the weekend, here’s why. Some of you might find this a little weird but here goes. My husband and I will be headed up to Seeley Lake where we have rented a cabin and a snow mobile. I’m so excited, like I said before I almost feel like a child. I can’t wait, a few of our friends are going to be up there that weekend as well so they decided to go snow mobiling with us. I’ll have to write again and tell you how it goes. Only 2 days till we leave!!!!
