Dogs!!
April 21, 2008 at 12:58 pm | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | Leave a CommentI’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in a while. My dog has been having a lot of seizures in the last couple days, so I haven’t been leaving his side. I’ve been busy babying him. I’m sure he’ll be fine. I already talked to his vet and have been told what to do, so we’ll be busy for a day or two trying to find out why the seizures are so numerous right now. I’ll post more later!!
A Companies Image
April 19, 2008 at 10:41 am | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | 3 CommentsO.K. so check this out. My friend Amber is here and we have been doing some research on company logos. She manages a small restaurant in town and she and the owner have been talking about doing a remodel. The owner doesn’t just want to move the tables around; she wants to remodel the whole thing. Some people may say this could be dangerous. Changing the name, logo, and look of the building may cause clients to leave. She doesn’t believe the customers will leave because she plans on talking with the customers about it for a few months so that none of them are caught off guard. When Amber and the owner sat down at their last meeting, the owner explained that she wasn’t going to have a company logo because she didn’t feel as though it was important. That is when Amber decided to come here so that we could check it out. We needed to know if it is important to have a company logo, our guts told us that it is. So, while looking around we read through some great articles written by people who have had personal experience with this, people in the business world who know what they’re talking about. Here is one short article that we found that explains everything. Click here if you would like to read it!! The article even gave us the name of a website we could visit to look at some company logo, and that website is http://www.pixellogo.com. Amber and I took a quick peek at that website and found a few simple logos that the owner could use for the restaurant. She plans on having the owner go to that website and look around; hopefully if the owner reads that article I suggested and also visits the website with the logos on it, we will be able to change her mind. In my heart I really think that not having a company logo is a big mistake!!
Dirt Bike Accident 2
April 15, 2008 at 11:33 am | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | 5 CommentsWell, it appears that my sister’s husband is going to be alright. They kept him in ICU over night, did a CAT scan the next morning to make sure the swelling in his brain wasn’t really bad, did a few more tests, and sent him home. He isn’t going to be able to work for a while, but he’ll just have to deal with it.
I feel sorry for my sister. Not only does she have 3 young kids, and a teenager to look after, now she has a bed stricken husband to tend to. That has to be difficult. I spoke with her on the phone this morning and she said Daniel is being a big whiney baby. (she was joking about it) She said all he does is whine about the fact that they ruined his wedding ring, and now he’s going to have all these ugly scars. After hearing that, I really believe that he is going to be fine. If he is complaining about stuff like that, then trust me when I say that he is back to his normal self!! My sister has been trying to get him to shut up and stop complaining about it, only because there is nothing they can do about it right now. I’m sure they’ll get everything figured out when he gets better, and hopefully they sell the dirt bike so this doesn’t happen again!!!
Dirt Bike Accident
April 13, 2008 at 6:47 pm | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | 1 CommentI got an alarming phone call last night. The caller ID said it was my mom so I answered my cell and right off the bat I knew something was wrong. I could tell by the tone in her voice. She began to explain that Daniel (my sisters husband) got into a bad wreck on his dirt bike. She began to explain that he was messing around with some of his buddies and wrecked pretty bad. I don’t know exactly how it happened but they had to call an ambulance. When he wrecked he hit his head and from the time it happened up until when the paramedics showed up, he was unconscious. He began to come around but he was in bad shape. They knew he had a head injury they just didn’t know how bad it was. His hand was broken and I guess the bone was sticking out. Ouch!! They rushed him to the hospital where he began to become beligerant because of the head injury. He was conscious, but he wasn’t himself. They said the head injury was a bad one. When they tried to get a CAT scan he wouldn’t hold still so they knocked him out and intubated him. From there he was put in ICU. My mom explained that my sister was going to stay with him, DUH!!! My mom said that was all she knew at that point but she didn’t think it was a fatal head injury. I told my mom to call me as soon as she heard anything, I said I didn’t care what time of night it was. Well they called this morning to say that they had to keep him unconscious for the night so that they could keep the breathing tube in him, but that he was begining to slowely wake up this morning. They still don’t know how bad the head injury was, or if he will have any permanent damage but it seems like he’s going to be o.k.
I feel really bad that I can’t be there for my sis right now!! I live in Montana and she lives in Nevada. She has no family down there, and because they just recently moved there she has few friends. I’m glad he’s going to be o.k. though. My sis called this morning to make sure that mom had called me to let me know that he was waking up. She told me that Daniel starting being beligerant because in whatever state of consciousness that he was in, he was able to understand them when they told him that they were going to cut off his wedding ring. His hand was swelling up pretty bad and they couldn’t get his ring off. They cut it off and that made him upset. I guess I might be upset if they cut my wedding ring!! But if it came down to cutting off my wedding ring or loosing my finger, I’m sure I would choose to cut it off.
I still can’t believe this happened to him. I guess it could have been worse. Hopefully there isn’t any permanent damage and he is able to make a swift and complete recovery. I’ll keep posting with any news!!
Fishing
April 11, 2008 at 7:05 pm | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | Leave a CommentIt’s almost time for river fishing!! I’m so excited!! The snow is melting, the robins are singing by my window in the mornings, and my tackle box is organized and ready to go. My husband and I will be going in soon to get out fishing licenses’ and new line for our poles. We replace the line on our poles at the beginning of every new season. Some people that I know (like my grandpa) only replace the line when he absolutely has to but I would rather not take the chance of losing a big fish because my line snaps. Wear and tear on fishing line occurs quite easily in my opinion. Every time you catch a fish and put strain on it, it has to stretch!! So, dust off your fishing poles and get ready. Spring is here!!

O.k. so do you remember the other post I wrote when I told you that my sister in law and family went to Big Sky RV and got a new RV to do some traveling. We’ll they’re off again!! This time they are using the RV to take his mom down to Texas. She got a wild hair and decided that she wanted to move out of Montana for a while and see the sights. With the help of some friends she found a job at an RV park down in Texas. So my sister in law and family are going to haul the RV down there for her to live in for a few months while she works that job, then when she’s done and decided to go somewhere else, they will just go down and pick up the RV. I was a little worried that they might regret lending her the RV for the summer but they told me that because off all the traveling they just did a while back, they want to take the summer off and do family things that are closer to home!! They also said that they were happy to loan her the RV because that way it was at least getting some use instead of sitting for the whole summer. So it worked out good for everybody… I wish his mom good luck!!
Conversations about Printer Ink…
April 1, 2008 at 11:00 am | In Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and everthing in between! | 1 CommentTags: ink cartridges, printer ink
Have you ever been in a crowded room full of a variety of different conversations at once? Have you sat back and just listened to those conversations?? It is funny sometimes. People can be talk about one thing and very quickly get switched to something else. Even in my own conversations I’ve sat back and laughed about how many topics can be covered in a short amount of time. Especially with girls. I’ll tell you this story and it will give you one example of what I’m talking about, although I’m sure you already know…My husband called me from work yesterday and said I should drive into town because he was getting off of work early and he thought it would be nice to go to lunch. I agreed that lunch would be nice, so I drove into town. After reaching his work we both jumped in my rig and headed out. We had just a couple stops to make before heading to the restaurant, and we both agreed to make those stops quickly. We were hungry. As we were driving past a car lot I pointed out a truck that I had been seeing there for a few weeks now. My husband and I have been looking for a Toyota pickup for him for months now, and that car lot finally had one in. So I pulled over and told him that we would at least look at the price and talk about it over lunch. He was a little hesitant at first, but then he agreed. We stopped, looked at the price, and then began reading the information page. We were both amazed and I realized that this might be too good a deal to pass up, so we headed into the building to talk to one of the employees about it. We asked if we could take it for a test drive and he threw us the keys. We took it for a drive and were quite impressed; we even took it back to my husband’s shop to take a quick peek under the hood. After a bit we headed back to the car lot and went inside. We began talking, and that turned into negotiating. In the end, as you can guess, we bought it. That was the most expensive lunch we’ve ever had… After purchasing it and taking it back to my husband shop, I called our insurance agent. I wanted it covered right away. He answered the phone and we began talking. At first it was all business. He wanted the VIN number and everything else pertaining to the new truck. Then out of the blue, with no warning what so ever he starts talking about his office printer. So I politely agreed with his opinion on the printer. Then he starts talking about the cartridge for his printer, and before I could even get a word in edge wise he starts talking about the company that refills his ink cartridges. Then he started complaining about the price. At that point I realized that if I didn’t jump in and say something, that he was just going to continue on and on. So I jumped in and began telling him the first thing that came to my mind, which was the fact that I order my ink from www.compimaging.com. He again began to try and speak, so I jumped back in and told him that he should visit their website. I told him to go on and compare the prices of ink from their site and what he gets locally. I quickly explained that I found them while researching ink for my small business, and I explained that I found them to be cheaper than what I could find locally. He quickly asked me if the cartridges were quality products or if they were junk, and I told him that I use them all the time and have had not one problem. I told him again that he should visit their website. He agreed. He said he would do so, and politely ended the call. I’m guessing he was going to their website right then. He seemed so excited when I told him that I get my ink cheaper on that website than I do locally. So although he was technically talking about one general subject, I’m sure you understand my point. He jumped from his printer, to the cartridge for his printer, to the company that refills his cartridges, to the price of refilling his cartridges. Had I allowed him to continue, I’m not sure what subject we would have ended up on! I just find stuff like that humorous. I’m sure that I do the same thing while talking to people. But if you ever get the chance, I suggest you just sit back and listen… You’ll be surprised at what you can learn, and who you can learn it from!!!!
